Objective To analyze the audio files of vascular tinnitus recorded through the ear canal, this paper verified the function of the self-developed objective tinnitus detector, and proposed a detection scheme for vascular tinnitus through the ear canal. Methods A self-developed objective tinnitus detector was used to detect and record tinnitus audio through the ear canal in 20 volunteers, who were clinically diagnosed as vascular tinnitus. The audio characteristics were analyzed through software. Results A total of 20 volunteers with vascular tinnitus were detected, all of whom were able to capture audio files through the external ear canal probe. Seventeen of the cases were confirmed by replaying the audio. Conclusions The self-developed objective tinnitus detector can capture the audio of most objective tinnitus through a high-sensitivity probe placed in the external ear canal, which is a new objective tinnitus detection scheme. It can help the clinical diagnosis and treatment of tinnitus. Vascular tinnitus has typical rhythmic characteristics, and our equipment is still unable to accurately distinguish between arterial and venous tinnitus.
