Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) of salivary gland type accounts for approximately 1% of all minor salivary gland tumors and belongs to an extremely rare category of head and neck tumors. There is no specific treatment guideline for this disease, and surgical treatment is usually adopted in clinical. This article reports a case of hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma of salivary gland type occurring in the nasopharynx. The patient went to the hospital for medical treatment due to a feeling of ear stuffiness. It was easily misdiagnosed as other types of nasopharyngeal tumors. The patient underwent surgical treatment. After a one-year follow-up, no obvious signs of recurrence were found. This article reviews the relevant literature on hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma of salivary gland type in order to better understand the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of this rare disease.
