Abstract:Objective To compare the repair effect of free forearm flap(RFFF) and anter -olateral femoral flap(ALTF)in postoperative defects after ablation of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Methods From January 2019 to December 2022 ,40cases of head and neck defects after radical ablation of head and neck squamous cell car- cinoma were randomly divided into 2 groups, one was repaired by RFFF and the oth -er by ALTF .The flap survival rate, operation time, complications were compared. Results There was no significant difference ( P>0.05) in the flap survival rate, flap making time, operation time,ICU stay, hospital stay between 2 groups. The incidence of post -operative complications in RFFF was higher than that in the ALFT group .Conclusion Both RFFF and ALTF have good flap survival rate, which are prior choices for soft tissue defect after ablation of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. There are individual advantages for both in clinical practices ,the selection of appropriate flap repair should be made according to
