Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of oral omeprazole enteric-coated capsules on preventing granulation in the laryngeal cavity after the partial laryngectomy. Methods A total of 74 patients with the partial laryngectomy admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to May 2022 were collected and randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group. The control group of 47 patients received routine preventive anti-infective treatment after discharge. The experimental group of 27 patients in addition to preventive anti-infection were treated with omeprazole enteric-coated capsules (oral, 20 mg, qd) for one month after discharge. The condition of laryngeal granulation was observed in the two groups. Results The results of electronic laryngoscope showed that the incidence of laryngeal granulation in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group at 1 month after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant between groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Laryngeal granulation is one of the common complications after partial laryngectomy. Oral omeprazole enteric-coated capsules may be an effective treatment to prevent granulation formation in laryngeal cavity after the partial laryngectomy.
