Objective To improve the understanding and treatment of airway management for patients with severe multiple head and neck injuries. Methods This paper reported the clinical data of a patient with severe multiple head and neck injuries successfully treated by non-direct endotracheal intubation guided by light stick and reviewed relevant literature. Results The patient underwent emergency endotracheal intubation guided by light stick, successfully opening the difficult airway, providing a basis for subsequent rescue and treatment. Conclusion Head and neck trauma with active oral bleeding was the main cause of suffocation in patients, and also the difficulty of airway management. Tracheal intubation guided by light stick is suitable for airway management in first aid, with simple operation, high success rate and few complications. It can be promoted as a supplement to conventional intubation technology, so as to give play to better practical advantages in first aid.
