ObjectiveTo explore the protective strategy for laryngoscope room of otolaryngology head and neck surgery during outbreak of COVID-19 so as to prevent medical staff and patients from cross infection and ensure successful completion of clinical diagnosis and treatment at the same time.MethodsIn this study, relevant literatures were reviewed and the prevention and control measures in our hospital were summarized. Our strategies focused on improving and perfecting the guiding opinions on reasonable distribution of patients, arrangement of laryngoscope room and protection of working personnel, preparing work before laryngoscopy, operation process and attentions concerned with laryngoscopy, as well as cleansing and disinfection after laryngoscopy.ResultsDuring the outbreak of COVID-19, daily clinical work was completed in laryngoscope room. All the medical staff and patients got neither SARS-CoV-2 nor other nosocomial cross infection.ConclusionOur protective strategy for laryngoscope room of otolaryngology head and neck surgery is reasonable and effective, which can protect the health of medical staff and patients and ensure successful completion of clinical diagnosis and treatment at the same time.
