Abstract:ObjectiveTo formulate management strategies for operating room according to the risk of crossinfection and occupational exposure faced by medical staff of otolaryngology head and neck surgery during the epidemic period of new coronavirus pneumonia, so as to ensure the safety of surgical patients and medical staff.MethodsFrom Jan 25, 2020 to March 8, 2020, 29 patients received surgical operation in our department. Starting from the aspects of personnel, materials, operation, environment and safety protection, strict and effective management strategies for operating room were formulated, operation implementation was standardized and the protection effect of medical staff and the perioperative status of patients were evaluated.ResultsPreoperative clinical observation and postoperative followup for 14 days revealed suspected, confirmed or misdiagnosed case in none of them. No medical or nursing staff member got crossinfection, and successful operation was achieved in all the patients without any complications.ConclusionFormulation of strict and effective management strategies for operating room can ensure the normal and timely operation implementation during the epidemic of new coronavirus pneumonia, protect the safety of medical staff and patients, prevent the occurrence of nosocomial crossinfection, and effectively avoid the spread of the epidemic.
