Abstract:Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of type I Madelung’ s disease and reduce the misdiagnosis and mistreatment.MethodsThe clinical data of 10 patients with type I Madelung' s disease treated by surgery were collected from December 2016 to June 2018. The patients were collected from the hospital where the author worked,and went out for consultation and treatment. 10 Case were analyzed and the literature was reviewed. All the 10 patients were male, aged 42-57 years, with an average age of 51 years. The lesions are concentrated in the neck and occiput, accompanied by dyspnea, dysphagia, upper arm pain, hoarseness, difficulty in tilting the head, and other symptoms. All patients had a long history of alcohol consumption.ResultsAll patients underwent fat resection and were followed up for 6 months to 2 years without recurrence.ConclusionsMadelung’ s diseasemainly occurs in middleaged men with a long history of drinking, and the disease is often accompanied by abnormal liver function. Surgical treatment is the most effective treatment for Madelung’ s disease at present, and patients with a wide range of lesions need to be treated by multiple surgeries.
