Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the expression and clinical significance of miR4855p in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).MethodsThe expression of miR4855p in 76 specimens of NPC and 28 of nasopharyngeal epithelial tissue was detected with qRTPCR, and the correlations between the expression and clinicopathological parameters were analyzed statistically.ResultsThe expression of miR4855p was decreased in NPC tissues when compared with nasopharyngeal epithelial tissues (P<0.05). Low expression of miR4855p was closely associated with the lymph node metastasis in NPC patients (P=0.001), while not statistically associated with patients’ age, gender, T classification and TNM stages of NPC (all P>0.05).ConclusionAs a metastasisassociated gene,miR4855p may play an important role in metastasis of NPC.
