Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the application of OsiriX software in the teaching and preoperative evaluation of functional rhinoplasty.MethodsThe computed tomography (CT) data in digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) format were processed by the OsiriX software. Three dimensional reconstructions of nasal appearance, nasal bones, nasal valves, nasal septum and nasal airways were performed to simulate patient’s real configurations and structures of nose.ResultsNasal appearance and structures such as nasal bones, nasal valves, nasal septum and nasal airways were reconstructed intuitively and factually with the OsiriX software.ConclusionThe OsiriX software is a useful tool to reconstruct the nasal configuration and structures, and plays an important role in the teaching and preoperative evaluation of functional rhinoplasty.
