Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the computed tomography (CT) features of nasal pleomorphic adenomas for improving its diagnostic validity.MethodsCT manifestations of 4 patients with nasal pleomorphic adenomas confirmed pathologically were analyzed retrospectively with literature review. Of them, one was male and 3 were female. And their age ranged from 23 to 60 years old with a median age of 47.5. CT scan on the sinus was performed to all the patients, and contrastenhanced CT scan to one of them.ResultsThe tumor was located at the nasal root in one case and the anterior nasal septum in 3. Lesions ranged in the longest diameter from 1 cm to 3 cm. All the lesions had welldefined margin with ellipse shape in one case and roundlike in 3.Plain CT scan revealed intermediate density of the lesions which was equal to that of the adjacent muscle. Inhomogeneous density lesion with intratumoral cracklike lowdensity areas presented in 3 cases. Mild compression absorption of surrounding bone with intratumoral calcification was observed in one. Contrastenhanced CT showed no enhancement.ConclusionCT findings of nasal pleomorphic adenomas are of certain characteristics, which may contribute to early diagnosis and treatment decisions of this tumor.
