Abstract:Abstract:ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of Merocel polymer hemostatic expansion material injecting with ropivacaine hydrochloride in relieving postoperative pain in chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS).Methods68 patients who received nasal packing with Merocel polymer hemostatic expansion material injecting with ropivacaine hydrochloride after surgery of CRS were chosen as observation group. Meanwhile, 38 cases with nasal packing by Merocel injecting with normal saline were selected as control. The postoperative pain was classified as nasal pain, incisors pain, forehead pain, and general malaise. Their degrees were scored with visual analogue scale (VAS). The postoperative pains of both groups on the first and second day after surgery were evaluated and compared.ResultsCompared with the control group, the postoperative pain of the observation group got reduced in different degree, especially the nasal pain and general malaise (all P<0.01).ConclusionNasal packing by Merocel injecting with ropivacaine hydrochloride is effective in reducing the pain after CRS surgery.
