Abstract:Abstract:ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of radiofrequency ablation on allergic rhinitis.MethodsThe randomized controlled trials (RCT) of radiofrequency ablation on allergic rhinitis published in domestic and overseas literature was retrieved and evaluated qualitatively using Jadad score sheet. A metaanalysis was performed to evaluate the curative efficacy of the RCTs.ResultsSix casecontrol studies were included. The total case number was 696, including 461 of radiofrequency ablation group and 235 of control. According to the metaanalysis, the excellently effective rate of the radiofrequency ablation group was higher than that of the control group [RR=2.95, P=0.07; 95% CI (1.94, 4.48)], and the total effective rate was also higher than that of the control group [RR=1.33,P=0.69; 95% CI (1.20,1.46)].ConclusionThe therapeutic effect of radiofrequency ablation on allergic rhinitis is preferable. However, due to the poor quality of present RCTs, welldesigned RCTs with large sample are needed to verify the result.
