Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the value of multislice CT (MSCT) threedimensional reconstruction in the differential diagnosis of pediatric tracheobronchial foreign body. METHODS:Twentyfour cases suspected of tracheobronchial foreign bodies were enrolled for retrospective analysis to evaluate the diagnostic value of MSCT and threedimensional reconstruction. RESULTS:Ninteen patients were diagnosed having tracheobronchial foreign bodies with MSCT threedimensional reconstruction and confirmed by bronchoscopy. The foreign bodies were removed successfully. The other five cases without positive findings in MSCT were cured with nonsurgical therapy. CONCLUSION:MSCT threedimensional reconstruction can improve the accuracy of diagnosis of tracheobronchial foreign body in children.
